The 9-10 year old Morrison Sluggers went undefeated last month to win the Prophetstown tournament. Morrison Sluggers are coached by Brock Helms. Assisting during the tournament were Andy Harridge and Jason Smith.
The boys played Saturday, July 20, and Sunday, July 21, 2013, at the Lyndon, IL, diamonds. Their first game on Saturday began at 8:00 a.m. against Riverdale, with a win of 9-2. The next game was at noon against Prophetstown, with a victory of 12-2.
Sunday’s first game was against Geneseo at 10:30 a.m., and the Sluggers won 11-1. The second game started at 1:15 p.m. against Riverdale, yielding another 9-2 win. The Championship game was played against Clinton, IA; the final score was 6-3 for the Sluggers.
