AmericaBeautifulMarker“Morrison Sings,” a community concert to benefit the Morrison Friends Food Pantry and other local charities, will be held at Morrison United Methodist Church, 200 W. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL, on Sunday, February 19, 2017, at 3:00 p.m.  The concert is a revamping of the popular “We Sing for Their Supper” concerts, which have been held in November of previous years.

The centerpiece of the afternoon will be selections performed by a massed choir of singers from Morrison area churches.  The program will include organ solos, a piano quartet, and congregational singing.

Music selections celebrate the diverse gifts we have been given as Americans.  Included are musical styles from early American folk hymns, African American spirituals, and blues.  The program will conclude with a moving version of “America the Beautiful.”

A free-will offering will be taken.  Proceeds will go to the Morrison Friends Food Pantry and other local charities.

Everyone is invited to enjoy the music while contributing to a worthy cause.
