Rotary Club member Mick Welding submitted the press release and photographs.
A changing of the guard took place on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, for Morrison Rotary Club. Rotary President Carrie Melton handed the gavel along with a President pin to incoming President Scott Vandermyde. He then presented Melton with a plaque and a Past-President pin.
Morrison Rotary Club is thankful for the leadership that Melton provided. Under her watch, we were able to plant a Pollinator Plot on W. Winfield Street; provide funding for a new pavilion at the dog park; donate $5500 in scholarships to Morrison High School Students. Melton also manages the Student of the Month program, where the Morrison Rotary recognizes two Morrison High School students each month. Those students are selected by MHS staff.
“Thank you, again, Carrie Melton, for your leadership,” said Welding. “We look forward to a promising year under Scott Vandermyde’s leadership as well!”
The first pavilion at Morrison Bark Park was erected on Wednesday, July 20, and Thursday, July 21, by Countryside Construction.
Welding added, “Thank you to all Rotarians who work at events to make donations like this possible.”
