Contribution to International Thanksgiving Program
International Thanksgiving Fellowship Program is an annual event held throughout the Sauk Valley Area.  Students from the International House of Chicago and other colleges are invited to spend the Thanksgiving weekend with local families.  The hosts open their homes and show the students an American tradition.  To volunteer in the future, please contact Carol Hollister at 815-772-4032 or Janet Fisher at 815-772-7668.

Each year 16 students arrive in Morrison, IL.  The coordinators of the program, Fisher and Hollister, take a charter bus to Chicago, IL, the day before Thanksgiving, Wednesday, November 27, 2013, to pick up the students and deliver them to their prospective families.

To help defray the cost of the bus, Morrison Rotary made a donation.   Presenting the check to Hollister, left, and Fisher, center, is Rotary President Dr. Suellen Girard year.

District Governor Visits
Rotary District 6420 Governor Ruth Lee made a stop at the club to share her words of wisdom on the positive effects of Rotary, not only locally, but around the world.

This was the District Governor’s 47th club to visit since she took office Monday, July 1, 2013.  Her message touched on Rotary’s continuing battle to eradicate Polio and the positive outlook of that possibility by 2015.  She added information on the Rotary Foundation and Membership, which was a reminder of all the good that Rotary does throughout the world.  Pictured are District Governor Lee and Rotary President Dr. Suellen Girard.
