The Illinois Drill Team Association, Class A Kick Division, Regional competition took place Saturday, December 12, 2015, in Dunlap, IL. First place winners of their first competition of the season were the Morrison High School Pom Pons. They scored 83.4 points of a possible 100, showcasing their expertise, strength, and grace. They mastered the routine in a short time, as they only began to learn it Wednesday, October 21.
The girls are coached by Jill Beswick and Katie Jakubs.
Their Highest Score of the Day qualified the team for State competition. Coach Jakubs reported taking a first this early in the season is a first for the team. “Judges’ [valuable] feedback helps us to do better,” as the year continues, she said. Additionally, the young women were the only 1A team to qualify for State competition.
