Morrison Police Report from August 30

Morrison Chief of Police Brian Melton reports the following Arrests made and Citations issued since Friday, August 30, 2019.

Arrests:  On Monday, September 2, 2019, at approximately 12:25 p.m., Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Shantori D. Bell, age 35 of Clinton, IA.  The traffic stop occurred in the 600 block of E. Lincolnway and was for a moving violation.  As a result of the investigation during the traffic stop, Bell was issued citations for No Valid Driver’s License, Failure to Signal, and Operating Uninsured Vehicle.  A passenger, Jessica K. Jenkins, age 28 of Clinton, IA, was arrested pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Vermilion County, charging Jenkins with Theft   Jenkins was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On Wednesday, September 5, 2019, Morrison Police issued ordinance violations for Public Fighting to Jeffrey A. Bos, age 61 of Morrison, IL; Charlie O. Johnson, age 64 of Morrison; Devontrey L. Cassiberry, age 19 of Morrison; Male Juvenile, age 17 of Morrison; Damon R. Kingdon, age 18 of Morrison.  The ordinance violations are the result of an investigation following an incident that occurred on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at approximately 10:00 p.m., in the municipal parking lot, 100 block of E. Market Street, Morrison.

On Thursday, September 5, 2019, at approximately 2:48 p.m., Morrison Police arrested Matthew R. Gorzney, age 23 of Morrison, IL, pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Whiteside County, charging Gorzney with Violation of Order of Protection.  During the arrest, methamphetamine was discovered in Gorzney’s possession.  Gorzney was also charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine (less than 5 grams-Class 3 Felony.)  Gorzney was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On Friday, September 6, 2019, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Morrison Police arrested Paula K. Holder, age 31 of Sterling, IL, pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Whiteside County, charging Holder with Failure to Appear-Probation Violation.  Holder was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.
