On Thursday, May 21, 2015, at approximately 9:15 a.m., Morrison Police responded to E. Lincolnway (U. S. Route 30) just west of N. Sawyer Road regarding a motor vehicle and pedestrian crash. The preliminary investigation determined that Raymond E. Printy, age 54 of Chariton, IA, was operating a semi (tractor-trailer combination) traveling eastbound on E. Lincolnway. Fredrick J. Taylor of Rock Falls, IL, was walking westbound on E. Lincolnway along the south side of the roadway (against traffic.) The semi, operated by Printy, struck Taylor in the semi’s lane of traffic. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene by the Whiteside County Coroner.
The Morrison Police was assisted by the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, Morrison Fire Department, Morrison Community Hospital Emergency Medical Services and the Whiteside County Coroner.
This crash remains under investigation by the Morrison Police.
