The Morrison Lions Club returns to its regular meeting schedule on the first and third Tuesday of each month at noon at Happy Joe’s, 109 W. Main Street, Morrison, IL, on September 3, 2013. Tracy Muur is in charge of the program.
The club will be celebrating its 75 year Charter Anniversary with a special dinner for members and their guests at the Forest Inn on Tuesday evening, October 1.
Special guests have been invited, including the present and past District Governors, other Lions Cabinet members, and area clubs that the Morrison club helped start by being a sponsor. Officers for the 2013-2014 club year will be installed by District Governor Fred Peska. Presentation of Melvin Jones Awards and chevrons will be by Past District Governor Ken Cocking and Past District Governor Ruth Lyle.
Celebrating 75 years is a great milestone for the club. [Members keep] the motto of “We Serve” by providing eyeglass and hearing aid assistance to Morrison area residents and [by] supporting community projects first and foremost. We wish to thank the Morrison community for supporting Lions Club over the past 75 years!
The second meeting of the month will be on Tuesday, September 17, and will be a business meeting. We cordially invite anyone interested in knowing more about Lions and the local Lions Club to attend any of our meetings.
