Sharon Moore submitted his press release.
Morrison Garden Club will have a Plant Sale on Saturday, May 20, 2023, in the City of Morrison Community Room, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL. Doors open at 9:00 a.m.; the sale will end at 1:00 p.m.
We can’t have this annual sale without your help! We invite local area gardeners to help make our sale successful. Donations are needed of potted perennial splits, starts, or cuttings from your gardens. We accept donations of bulbs, house plants, planters, plant stands, garden tools, garden statuary, etc. Pretty much anything gardening related, in new or good, clean, and used condition are welcome. In the past, we have had some amazing donations for door prizes, so we are looking for a few items for that as well.
A few more volunteers may be needed on the day of the sale, to help carry out purchases to our customers’ vehicles and help with the cleanup. If interested, please see the contact info below, or come to our next meeting. It will be held in the Program Room at Odell Public Library on Thursday, May 4, at 2 p.m.
All potted donations can be dropped off near the west door entrance of the community room on Friday, May 19, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 pm. Contact Sharon at 630-835-8373 or email sharonkmoore@mchsi.com to arrange for a drop-off site prior to May 19.
Messages can also be sent directly to our Facebook page, “Morrison Garden Club.”
We do apologize that we do not have anyone to come out and help dig in your yard this year. We ask that plants get potted for us. If you need pots, we have some available; just contact us.
All proceeds from the sale will be put back into our community for our current and future projects.
Morrison Club is always looking for new members, and we will need volunteers for our bigger projects. We update our Facebook page regularly. Brochures with information on the Club’s activities will be available at the Plant Sale and are currently available at K & R Greenhouse, Spangler’s Landscape Design, and Odell Public Library.
The Plant Sale is also the kick-off to our Children’s Coloring Contest (ages 3-to-10). Coloring pages will be available that day. Prizes we will give away (one for each age group) will be on display. Coloring pages and prizes will be moved into the library.
