The Board members of Morrison Friends Food Pantry have received written notice from Director Kaywyn Beswick of her decision to resign from the position, effective [Saturday,] January 1, 2022. The Board voted to officially accept the resignation at a special meeting held [Tuesday,] December 28, 2021.
While an entirely volunteer organization as essential to the community as a food pantry never likes to lose one of its experienced, long-serving members, it is inevitable, and those remaining must regroup and continue to move forward. Kaywyn’s selfless commitment to serving the needy in the Morrison community is to be commended.
Kaywyn began volunteering with Morrison Friends Food Pantry in 2001. Following the passing of pantry founder Phyllis Fell in 2007, Kaywyn was asked and accepted the position of Pantry Director. Over the last 14 years the duties and responsibilities of the position have expanded and become increasingly detailed and time-consuming. The most recent two “pandemic” years have seen added requirements to go along with an increase in the volume of products handled.
As food pantry volunteers and also community members, we wish to express our deep gratitude to Kaywyn for her years of tireless service to the pantry and the community. The amount of time and energy Kaywyn has invested to facilitate a smooth operating, welcoming, and effective charitable organization has been a blessing to the people who make their home in Morrison.
Our sincere appreciation to Kaywyn Beswick for a “job well done.”
