Morrison Downtown is “Worthy of Preservation”

Tim Slavin, President of Morrison Historic Preservation Commission, mentioned this Chicago Tribune article of Thursday, February 26, 2015. It references achievement of a long-term goal of MHPC:  to secure placement of the Morrison, IL, downtown on the National Register of Historic Places.

Illinois added 24 such locations as “worthy of preservation” in 2014.

MHPC members are shown April 2, 2013, as evaluation of downtown buildings began.  Left-to-right are committee members Sharon Moore, Bill Shirk, Slavin, Lon Rice, Bob Vaughn.  At right is Darius Bryjka of In(Alliance), a Nationally-recognized expert in these matters.  Bryjka was hired as the project’s specialist.
