During the past year, the Morrison Chamber of Commerce has looked at ideas, tasks, and initiatives that will enhance the community as a whole, help increase individual homeowner’s property value, and make Morrison an even better place to live.
The Chamber has developed a new Beautification Committee. Its purpose is to
- unite our community groups and focus on initiatives that will improve the town’s appearance and enhance our community
- beautify the community and public facilities
- promote community pride and volunteerism
- increase individual property and community values.
“Our goal is not to reinvent the wheel or take on projects that others within the community are doing,” said committee chairman, Brandi Renkes. “Our hope is that we can move forward and begin filling in gaps. We are still in the process of contacting organizations that may want to help with our new initiative.”
If you have a beautification idea or are part of an organization that would like to help, please email the Chamber Office at morrisonchamber@morrisonil.org, call 815-772-3757, or talk to one of the following committee members or member of the participating organizations: left-to-right are Ellen Smith (Morrison Rotary Club); Barry Dykhuizen (City Administrator, City of Morrison); Brandi Renkes (Wells Fargo Bank); Jan Kelly (Morrison Garden Club); Lisa James (Cottonwood 4-H Club); Rebecca Green (Morrison Lions Club/Morrison Chamber of Commerce); Kim Ewoldsen (Morrison Chamber of Commerce).
Together, we can help make Morrison beautiful!
