It is not often that a “gas station” has a new product to promote, but Casey’s Carry-Out Pizza does. At 602 E. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL, customers still have two choices for fuel. However, a previous fuel was discontinued, and a new one took its place. Casey’s dropped the 89 octane option and added diesel fuel.
Who are possible diesel fuel purchasers? It is unsuitable for small garden tractors/mowers. Owners of large farm equipment; campers and RV’s; buses and semi’s; large vehicles in general, will benefit.
Store Manager Tonya Jensen stated, “We’re hoping it’s a positive thing for the store. We may be a lot busier; I am looking forward to [meeting] new people.” She noted, “I would like to see R. C. Smith, Wiersema’s, the City, and ambulances become customers.” As of Friday, June 2, that goal was met, along with Morrison Fire Department patronage.
On Tuesday, May 13, 2017, the replacement of 89 octane gasoline with diesel began. Remaining amounts of 89 octane were extracted from four pumps; those pumps were cleaned and filled with diesel fuel. Customers can identify diesel pumps by their green color.
Four pumps that had been dispensers of 87 octane were not changed.
Jensen submitted a building permit for new signage, so customers will know diesel fuel is available at Casey’s. It will be installed soon.
