A lost orphan found. A villain thwarted. A hero and heroine triumphantly united. All and more can be found in the upcoming Morrison Music Theater Association (MMTA) production of “He Ain’t Done Right By Nell” by Wilbur Braun.
Performances will be held at 7:00 p.m. at two locations:
- Prophetstown Congregational Church, 218 E. Third Street, Prophetstown, IL, on Friday, July 1, and Saturday, July 2
- Morrison Institute of Technology Auditorium, 701 Portland Avenue, Morrison, IL, on Friday, July 8, and Saturday, July 9, 2016.
The cast of characters come from all over the Sauk Valley area. They include
- Kraig Schweiss, Sterling, IL, as the villainous Hilton Hays
- James Biba, Prophetstown, as the young hero, Jack Logan (shown above)
- Jasmine Haggard, Prophetstown, as the orphan Nell (shown above)
- Connie Swanson-DeSpain, Morrison, as Granny Perkins
- Carol Janvrin, Morrison, as Lolly
- Edwin Davis, Sterling, as the industrialist Burkitt Carleton
- his daughter, Vera, in the Prophetstown performances will be Lanae Arnold; in the Morrison performances will be Tessa Vander Bleek.
Songs, jokes, and other entertainment will be provided by an additional cast of characters throughout the evening. You will not want to miss this event!
The show is being directed by Kim Meyers, Prophetstown, and David Bean, Morrison, with music accompaniment provided by Kathy Janicek, Morrison. Set design and production was executed by Theresa Brandon, Morrison.
Tickets are $8 each and are available for the Prophetstown performances at Niccoli’s restaurant and at Fitzgerald Pharmacy for the Morrison performances. Tickets will be available at the door.
An optional ice-cream social will be available at the Prophetstown performances by purchasing your tickets in advance at Niccoli’s.
