Morrison Music Theatre Association (MMTA) will enact a fifth delightful radio play, tonight, Friday, December 3, 2021. Be sure you are seated 15 minutes before the 7:00 p.m. start time, because the characters in this 1946 radio studio will be preparing for their broadcast.
Morrison Institute of Technology, 701 Portland Avenue, Morrison, IL, is the venue. Bring the whole family to watch “A Christmas Carol, a Live Radio Play,” adapted by Joe Landry. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.
This Charles Dickens holiday classic comes to life as a live 1940s radio broadcast, complete with vintage commercials for fruitcake (“extra-fancy”), and the magic of live sound effects and musical underscoring.
Playing various roles, a handful of actors bring dozens of characters to the stage, as the familiar story unfolds. Three ghosts take Ebenezer Scrooge on a thrilling journey to teach him the true meaning of Christmas. This charming take on a family favorite will leave no one saying “Bah Humbug!”
