MMTA Announces “They’re Playing Our Song” Cast

Morrison Music Theater Association is proud to announce the cast for their production of “They’re Playing Our Song.”  This iconic, hit musical features music of Marvin Hamlisch and dialogue by Neil Simon.  It will be presented in the auditorium at Morrison Institute of Technology, 701 Portland Avenue, Morrison, IL, Friday, March 13, and Saturday, March 14, at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 15, 2020, at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets will be for non-reserved seating, available at the door and in advance at Fitzgerald Pharmacy in Morrison.

The musical is a loosely autobiographical story of the relationship between Hamlisch and lyricist Carol Bayer Sager.  The lead male role of composer Vernon Gersch will be played by John Miller of Morrison, while Nicole Oberg of Sterling, IL, will portray his lyricist Sonia Walsk.

Ensemble members hail from several area communities:  Morrison, Mai Britt, Carol Janvrin, Bonnie Phend, and Eric Phend; Fulton, Dianne Helbig; Sterling, Angie Lobdell and Joplin Patras; Wheaton, Edwin Davis.
