Morrison Junior High School is holding a “Pennies for Patients” drive with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), from Monday, January 9, through Friday, January 20, 2017. We need your help in the fight against blood cancers, like leukemia. By participating in the LLS Student Series programs, MJHS is working to help blood cancer patients live their best life today. Donations received through the Student Series programs fund the treatments that get to patients more quickly.
“Cures today. Not someday.” That’s the LLS goal. Together, with the 14 million students who participate in the Student Series Programs, we plan to make an impact.
There are several student events planned during this time to ensure a successful fundraiser. We invite the community to participate as well. On Friday, January 13, we are hosting an Open Gym/Dance. We are in need of donations of baked goods, snacks, and beverages to sell as concessions items. All proceeds will go directly to LLS. Monetary donations are also being accepted to add to our fundraising efforts.
Donations of any kind can be dropped off or mailed to MJHS, 300 Academic Drive, Morrison, IL 61270. Make online donations at http://events.lls.org/pages/il/MorrisonJuniorHighSchool-2017.
We have a friendly competition going between the 14 homerooms in our building. The class who brings in the most money will win a pizza party.
