Miriam F. Siefken, 89, of 302 B Oak Street, Morrison, IL, died Saturday, March 23, 2013, at her home.
Miriam was born October 20, 1923, in Grinnell, IA, to James LeRoy and Alta Lavina (Wenger) McCluskey. She was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and attended Morrison High School. She married Raymond A. Siefken on November 22, 1940, in Dubuque, IA. He died April 4, 1985. Miriam was employed by the Whiteside News-Sentinel in Morrison. She was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church and the Morrison Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Miriam enjoyed golfing and playing cards, especially bridge.
Survivors include four sons, Roger Siefken of Torrance, CA; Jim Siefken (Debbie Paul) of Gurnee, IL; David (Kathy) Siefken of Cabin John, MD; Bob (Marcella) Siefken of Bishop, CA; eight grandchildren, Sarah (Michael) Zazueta, Michael (Sophia) Siefken, Jim (Jennifer) Siefken, Jr., Rick Siefken, Julia Sotelo, Amy (Timothy) DelCotto, and Christopher (Alison) Siefken; 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Siefken; two brothers, James McCluskey and Wayne McCluskey.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Morrison United Methodist Church
OFFICIATING: Rev. Dan Schenck, Pastor, Morrison United Methodist Church
VISITATION: 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at Morrison United Methodist Church
The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL
