Mike Beswick, 74, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Mike was born March 4, 1950, in Morrison, to Richard H. and Grace L. (Bartz) Beswick. He attended Morrison Grade Schools and graduated from Morrison High School in 1968. On November 24, 1967, he married Mary Stern, in West Eli, MO. Mike was employed at General Electric Appliance Control Department for over 40 years. A devoted member of Our Savior Lutheran Church-LCMS in Sterling, IL, Mike found great joy in his faith and community. He was a former member of Morrison Country Club and Lake Erie Country Club in Erie, IL. A man of many interests, Mike loved woodworking, gardening, and yard work. He had a lifelong love for sports and was an avid reader, who never missed his daily crossword and Sudoku puzzles. Playing cards with family and friends was one of his favorite pastimes. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his grandchildren, always offering his support, wisdom, and warmth. For 15 wonderful years, he and Mary enjoyed wintering in Myrtle Beach, making countless memories together. Mike was a devoted husband, father, bapa, brother, and friend. He was always there to lend a helping hand–whether it was home renovations, homework help, or simply offering a listening ear. His kindness, patience, and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; daughters, Michelle Fuller of Rockton, IL, and Melinda (Rocco) Todaro of Rockford, IL; special family, Tim (Jamie) Dauphin of Morrison; eight grandchildren, Ethan and Jacob Fuller, Brianna (Matt) Leibham, Nicholas Todaro, and Samantha Todaro, and Riley, Thomas, and Olivia (Ov) Dauphin; two great-grandchildren, Eloise and Rosalie Leibham; sisters, Kathleen (Robert) Barsema of Fulton, IL, and Sandra Ludington of Amarillo, TX; brothers, William (Barbara) Beswick and John (Jodi) Beswick both of Morrison.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
His Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Our Savior Lutheran Church-LCMS in Sterling, IL, with Rev. Philip Heuser, Pastor at Our Savior Lutheran Church, officiating.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
A memorial has been established to Christ Lutheran School in Sterling, IL.
