Mickey Joe Hahn, 63 of Morrison, IL, died Monday, December 2, 2013, at Morrison Community Hospital.
He was born on April 16, 1950, in Sterling, IL, the son of Leonard and Mary (Miller) Hahn, and was a 1968 graduate of Sterling High School. He served in the U. S. Army during the Viet Nam War. He married Barbara J. Leach on June 9, 1972, in Sterling. He was employed at the former R. B. & W. and later Reliant Fastner in Rock Falls, IL. For the past ten years he worked at Rocktenn Co. in Clinton, IA. He had served as a Morrison Little League Coach for many years and was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan and a Chicago Bears fan.
Surviving are his wife, Barb of Morrison; his daughter Christeen E. (Frank) Thayer, Jr. of Sterling; his mother, Mary Hahn of Morrison; his sister Sandy (Bill) Blevins of Sterling, and three granddaughters, Brennah Zuidema, and Emily and Allison Thayer.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterlin, IL.
Memorial services will follow on Friday, December 6, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Dalmus Meeks officiating.
Burial with military honors will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling, IL.
