Morrison Chamber of Commerce hosted a Ribbon Cutting ceremony for Country Financial, 100 E. Knox Street, Morrison, IL, on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at 12:15 p.m. On January 1, the business welcomed Financial Representative Michael Briscoe to the company.
Briscoe offers Auto, Home, Business, and Life insurance and investment services, such as mutual funds and annuities. “This is something I enjoy doing [for clients]. I am new to the area and am eager to meet people,” he stated. He worked formerly in the Metlife Auto Claims Department, in Freeport, IL.
Fiancée Korissa Blasing said her “family works for Country Financial. [Michael] was looking for financial jobs. We were pleased that a [Country Financial] job opened up.” She started in December 2020, as a nurse intern at CGH Medical Center, Sterling, IL. She completes Nursing School in May, with a Registered Nurse degree, and will enter the healthcare field. “I am hoping to do maternal nursing, Obstetrics.”
The couple has out-of-town coaching responsibilities this spring. Briscoe is a Varsity Football Coach at Pearl City-Eastland High School and Head Coach of Junior Varsity. Blasing Coaches Volleyball at Aquin High School in Freeport.
They have lived in Morrison “about a month…off of Prairie Center Road.” Residents might recognize Michael Briscoe and/or Korissa Blasing by their chocolate Lab, who enjoys walks along the road. A wedding is planned for October.
