Meredith was born January 13, 1930, in Morrison, the daughter of Ralph and Sara (Rogers) Domdey. She married Warren R. Renkes on November 7, 1947, in Morrison. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1998. Meredith was a 1947 graduate of Morrison High School. She was employed at General Electric and later owned and operated, with her husband, Renkes Paint Store in Morrison, before retiring. Meredith was an active member of Morrison United Methodist Church for many years, organizing and cooking many meals for various church functions. She also attended the Lyndon United Methodist church with family and contributed in many ways to the church. Meredith enjoyed cooking, decorating, and embroidery, and shared her many creations with others. Her faith and family were important to her. She especially enjoyed picking out gifts that would be meaningful to each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda (Dick) Tracy of Dubuque, IA; a son, Rolland (Janet) Renkes of Morrison; a daughter-in-law, Sally Renkes of Prophetstown, IL; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Hall of Mesa, AZ, and Audrey Temple of Morrison; a brother, Donald (Barbara) Domdey, Morrison; a sister-in-law, Lois Domdey of Harden, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by two sons, Raymond Renkes and Richard Renkes; a grandson, Bryan Renkes, in infancy; a brother, Kenneth Domdey.

Following Meredith’s wishes, a graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 8, 2016, at Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL, with Reverend Andy Ploenzke officiating.

A memorial has been established for Morrison United Methodist Church.

The McDonald Funeral Home, Prophetstown, IL, is in charge of arrangements.
