Meetings to Review County Comprehensive Plan

County-mapWhiteside County is drafting a Comprehensive Plan to guide development and positive change over the next 20 years.  The completed draft plan is available for review, and a summary will be presented for discussion at each of two public meetings.  All interested parties are encouraged to attend one of the meetings.  Please help us create a plan that truly represents the interests of the County!  

The first meeting is on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, in the Ryberg Auditorium, located in CGH Medical Center Hospital, 100 E. LeFevre, Sterling, IL. 

The second meeting is on Thursday, May 8, in the Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL. 

Both locations are handicap accessible.  Doors will open at 6:15 p.m., and meetings will begin at 6:30.  Meetings will include a brief overview of the planning process and purpose, followed by a summary of policies and recommended actions in the plan.  The plan addresses

  • land use and development
  • transportation
  • economic development
  • housing
  • agriculture
  • natural hazards.
