Dustin Hoffman wowed the movie-going world in 1982, with his entirely convincing portrayal as an actress in “Tootsie.” Join the Friends of Odell Public Library for a free showing of this classic comedy film, on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. The movie begins at 2:00 p.m. in the Odell Public Library Program Room, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison IL.
The Academy Award-nominated movie follows Michael Dorsey (Dustin Hoffman), a talented but difficult actor whose poor reputation leads to a lack of work. After a soap opera audition goes awry, Michael reinvents himself as actress Dorothy Michaels, auditions again, and wins the part! Although the role was intended to be short-lived, he/she earns a long-term contract. When Michael falls for another member of the cast, Julie (Jessica Lange), complications develop that could unravel his well-orchestrated charade.
The film is rated PG and runs just under two hours. Come and enjoy this comedic adventure along with free popcorn and soda.
