The public is invited to attend a Meet the Artist reception for Charles Yost at The Loft on Main, 112 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL. This social gathering is offered from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, September 14, 2019.
A Morrison High School graduate, Yost now lives in Chicago, IL. His visit coincides with his class reunion, so classmates are encouraged to meet him in the gallery and see his dynamic pieces.
Yost seeks to combine both geometric and organic elements, interacting forms and shapes. Kinetic movement in some pieces involve the viewer, to set the forms in motions. His pierced metal, orange sculpture, “Rockin’ Diatonic,” actually rocks.
He works in bronze and aluminum casting; polyester resin; fiberglass; welded steel, stainless steel; welded aluminum fabrication.
