Michael and Shirley Hart moved to Morrison, IL, on Friday, March 30, 2017, from Paragould, AK. He described their former home as “near 100 miles northwest of Memphis[, TN].” Shirley is al left in the front row, and Michael is in the back,
His wife explained, “Our grandkids and daughter live up here; plus, we like Morrison.” “It’s a nice, quaint, little town,” complimented Michael. Their daughter is Jessica (Tom) Dersham; the grandchildren are Gillian, 16, and Brodie, 11.
A week later, the Harts attended the Ribbon Cutting/Open House for As Good As New, 201 E. Market Street, on Saturday, April 8, 2017. They had visited the resale shop “a month ago” and decided to purchase two yellow chairs for the glass-enclosed front porch. Yellow is Shirley’s favorite color, so she was the right buyer.
“We are unloading boxes and still walking in a maze,” she said, “but it’s much better.” The couple can relax in their new chairs on the porch, looking onto the 200 block of S. Clinton Street. “It was the first thing we liked about the house,” noted Shirley.
Once unpacked, they can turn to a variety of interests. He takes photographs and has “done art since I retired. I’ve done photos for a long time….I love that [Annan] Mill!” He plays guitar and piano.
His wife plays the keyboard, and they both sing. Shirley enjoys cooking, reading, and walking, too.
