Sterling-Rock Falls Historical Society has invited a dynamic President’s wife, from America’s early history to speak, on Sunday, September 8, 2019. at 2:00 p.m.
You will meet her at the Lincoln Learning Center, 611 E. Third Street, in Sterling, IL. Barbara Kay is a retired high school history teacher, who will present “A Visit with Dolley Madison.” Everyone is invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
Kay will bring Dolley Madison alive with her first-person presentation. Dolley Madison did more than just save a portrait of George Washington! Her actions during the War of 1812 helped shape the role for future First Ladies, so Kay will tell the story of Madison’s life with an emphasis on that period.
The program is free, but donations are appreciated.
