Meet Bicyclists Who Cycle to Ease World Hunger

CycleToSynodOn Wednesday, June 13, 2018, look for a group of bicyclers to arrive in Morrison, IL.  They will be members of the First Annual CycletoSynod traveling fundraising squad.

Their mobile mission is “Breaking the Hunger Cycle” as they raise money for the ELCA Lutheran World Relief World Hunger program.  For more information or to make a donation, go to http://nisynod.org/cycletosynod.

From Tuesday, June 12, through Friday, June 15, “CycletoSynod” members of the Northern Illinois Synod member churches will ride their bicycles from Rockford, IL, to Augustana College in Rock Island, IL.  In advance of the ride, participants solicit pledges of support.

Congregations en-route provide lodging and meals.

Cyclists will arrive on Wednesday, sometime in the mid-afternoon/early evening and convene at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 301 W. South Street, Morrison.  They will stay at the homes of members from the church.  Supper will be served for them and their host families that evening at the church.

CycletoSynod riders will depart around 8:00 a.m., on Thursday, June 14, from Bethesda Lutheran Church, following a group prayer and send-off.  Community members are welcome to join the prayer circle and send off.
