On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, McDonald’s, 604 E. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL, allowed Morrison Music Boosters to host the first “Good Neighbor Night” fundraiser to benefit a Morrison organization. The event was held between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. The Music Boosters received $500 to support the MHS Marching Mustangs Color Guard. Owner/Operator Casey Newman was present for this debut event.
He stated, “McDonald’s is committed to the community” through the Good Neighborhood Night donation request program. “Groups will receive a minimum of $500, or 20% of the proceeds from sales during three hours of service–whichever is greater. Organizations can visit www.tristatemcd.com to request a donation during Good Neighbor Night.”

Color Guardians Arias and Blevins delivered meals to customers who awaited their orders, both inside and at the parking area. They washed tables and swept the floor. Volunteers offered Happy Meal stickers.

Morrison Marching Mustangs Color Guard adds visual appeal, to music performed at home Football games, parades, and more, through flag spinning and dance. After over a decade, the Color Guard was reactivated, during the August 30, 2024, Football game. Current Guardians are MHS Juniors Terry Arias and Quinn Blevins, who performed with Marching Band during pregames and half-times. The students received a grade, as a Section of the Band; they added Band to their academic schedule for Fall term. Coach Blevins stated, “We would like to see a coed Color Guard team grow, with up-to-six members.”
