Charges listed below are an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
On 5/28/17 at about 3:35 a.m., Whiteside County Deputies responded to the area of Route 30 and Hillside Road, rural Morrison, IL, on a train-versus-vehicle crash. Investigation revealed John Julius Chadwick, 40, of Clinton IA, was driving a 2006 GMC Sierra pickup truck and was stuck southbound on the Union Pacific railroad tracks. A northbound Union Pacific train subsequently collided with the truck. Chadwick was taken to Morrison Community Hospital for observation and later released. He was charged with DUI-Alcohol and trespassing on railroad property. He was released with a Notice to Appear in court. The train Engineer and Conductor were not injured.
