The 2018 Memorial Day Ceremonies will be held in Morrison, IL, on Monday, May 28. The parade will start at 10:30 a.m.
Participant line up will be on E. Main Street at the American Legion Hall, one half hour before the parade start time. The parade will travel west on Main Street from Madison to Genesee Street and then move north on Genesee to Grove Hill Cemetery on High Street.
The Memorial Service will be at the Veterans Memorial and Pavilion starting at approximately 11:00, with time allowed for everyone to travel from the downtown parade route.
This year’s speaker is Chief Petty Officer Lori (Bush) Matlack, United States Coast Guard, a Morrison native. The invocation and Benediction will be given by Pastor Rich Davis of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison.
This year, the American Legion post is not able to host visitors after the program. They will extend their usual hospitality in 2019.
