On 05-23-14 at approximately 10:26 a.m. Deputies responded to a two-vehicle traffic accident at the intersection of Luther and Fargo Roads. Through the investigation, it was determined that an eastbound vehicle driven by Robert L. Unterzuber, 86, and his passenger Marilyn K. Unterzuber, 84, both of Rock Falls, IL, failed to stop at the posted stop sign on Fargo Road, and was struck by a southbound delivery vehicle driven by Charlie C. Vasquez, 56, of Rock Falls. Tampico EMS, Tampico Fire Department, and CGH Ambulance responded to assist with injured personnel.
Whiteside County Coroner pronounced Robert Unterzuber deceased on scene. All other parties were transported to CGH Medical Center, Sterling, IL, for treatment. Illinois State Police also provided assistance to the Deputies.
