Name recognition is a critical component in successful businesses. Some well-established names continue when new owners buy the enterprise, allowing past customers the comfort and continuity of good service. Yarbrough Appliance and Bogott Plumbing, Inc. are two examples in Morrison, IL.
After a time, new owners may desire a change. More Insurance Agency chose a new slogan to stress they are “still the same people, [with] just a fresh new look and a name to remember!” More also has a name that is easier to pronounce than the previous owners.
“With all due respect to Mr. Maurits and Mr. Jost, who are no longer with us,” said current Owner/Agent Keith Frederick, “we needed a name that was more recognizable.” To publicize the transition, “We have new letterheads, and billboards are coming,” he stated.
For 33 years Frederick has worked for Maurits & Jost Insurance, which continues as a company of independent, personal and commercial insurance agents. He sold insurance for five years before starting with the local firm. Frederick and Agent Heather Toppert access coverage from a plethora of companies to suit their customers’ needs. Clients live in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin.
Who chose the covered bridge as a logo? “I did,” answered Toppert. “It lends itself to promotion: ‘The bridge to better insurance’ and ‘You’re covered by More’ [are examples of possible slogans]. I’m eager and excited to have a new face” for the business.
Kali Drane is the Marketing Consultant, and the Customer Service representative is Christina Geerts.
