matthew andersonMatthew Madsen Anderson, 15, of Rock Falls, IL, died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.

Matt was born on February 12, 1999, in Sterling, the son of Michael Dennis and Jennifer Sue (Madsen) Anderson.  He attended East Coloma School and was currently a freshman at Rock Falls Township High School.  Matt excelled in sports.  He was a member of the 2011 and 2013 Rock Falls Little League State Champion teams.  Matt played on the undefeated Rock Falls High School freshman football team and was also a shooting guard for the Rock Falls basketball team.  Whatever sport he was playing, Matt never complained, gave his all, and had a true love for the game.

Matt had a smile and a kind word for everyone he met.  Those left to honor his memory include his parents, Mike and Jennifer; his sister, Katie, and his brother, Nick; his maternal grandparents, Carol Madsen of Eldridge, IA, and Richard (Brenda) Madsen of Bettendorf, IA; paternal grandparents Dennis and Pauline Anderson of Sterling; maternal great-grandparents, Richard and Betty Madsen of Stuart, FL; paternal great-grandmother, Mary Caudillo of Sterling; his aunts and uncles: Gretchen and John Lindle, Chad and Josie Anderson, Eric and Ashley Anderson; his cousins, Megan Lindle, Jace Anderson, and Kennedy Anderson.  Matt will also be missed by countless friends.

He was preceded in death by maternal great-grandparents, Lloyd and Elizabeth Barber; paternal great-grandparents Donald and Cassie Anderson; great-grandfather Peter Caudillo.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014, from 3:00 to 7:30 p.m., at Harvest Time Bible Church, 1801 Dixon Avenue, in Rock Falls, IL.  A prayer service will immediately follow at the church.

Private family burial will take place at a later date.  Arrangements were completed by McDonald Funeral Homes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family and sent to Midlands State Bank in Rock Falls, IL, for future disbursement.
