The Masonic Lodges of Erie, Fulton, Morrison, Prophetstown, and Sterling-Rock Falls, IL, will host an Illinois Children Identification Program (ILCHIP) during the Whiteside County Fair. To “protect the kids you love,” visit the ILCHIP location on Tuesday, August 14, or Saturday, August 18, 2018, from noon to 6:00 p.m. Information provides “everything you need to assist the authorities in finding your lost child.”
- Children of any age are welcome.
- Children who are not local residents are welcome.
Each child will be fingerprinted and receive a thumb drive with his/her information (height, weight, color photograph, and a short video interview.) They will take home a DNA saliva swab kit.
The process is at no cost to parents/guardians and takes only a few minutes. It is confidential; only the parental permission form is kept. The identification is kept private. Computers used during this registration event do not store any information.
This safety identification program is sponsored by the Freemasons of Illinois. It began in 1994 in New York. Today, members of the Masonic Fraternity in 30 States have similar programs to assist parents and young families.
