Mary Covell (1962 – 2022)

Mary Covell, 59, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.

Mary was born November 11, 1962, in Morrison to Ronald E. and Patricia A. (Knox) Zuidema. She was educated in the Morrison grade schools and graduated from Morrison High School in 1980. On October 4, 1985, she married Clair “Opie” Covell in Morrison. Mary had worked at Sullivan’s Foods in Morrison, and for the last 28 years, she was employed with Timken Drives, Inc. in Fulton, IL. Mary was an avid bowler and loved music, dancing, reading, and crocheting. She especially enjoyed fishing and traveling with her husband, Opie.

Survivors include her husband, Opie; daughter, Rebecca (Justin) Temple of Sterling, IL; son, Jarrod Covell of Fenton, IL; three grandchildren, Rylynn Temple, Jax Temple, and Blaze Covell; brother, Vincent (Sheila) Zuidema of Morrison; step-mother, Jean Zuidema of Clinton, IA; several brothers- and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Mark “Woody” Woodward.

A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday June 13, 2022, at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, officiated by Ken Renkes.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

A memorial has been established.
