Marjorie R. “Marge” Venhuizen, 88, of Morrison, IL, died Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Resthave Home in Morrison.
Marge was born November 23, 1930, in Sterling, IL, to Rennie and Lodina (Medema) Buikema. She was educated in the Morrison Grade School and was a graduate of Morrison High School. On July 27, 1951, she married Theodore “Ted” Venhuizen. He died June 12, 2013. Marge was a homemaker. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church, where she helped out with funeral luncheons. She enjoyed yard work and flower gardening.
Survivors include one son, Rick (Sherry) Venhuizen of Morrison; two grandchildren, Jeremy (Amanda) Venhuizen and Monica (Joe) Tolliver; four great-grandchildren, Jake Venhuizen, Cora, Patrick and Emma Tolliver; one sister, Geraldine (Jim) Kophamer of Morrison; one brother, Ron Buikema of Morrison.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
The will be no visitation or funeral services.
A private committal service will be held at a later date at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial to the Alzheimer’s Association has been established.
