Marjorie J. “Marge” Hook, 85, of Resthave Home, Morrison, IL, died Thursday, December 3, 2015, at the Home.
Marge was born July 14, 1930, in Morrison, to Falkert and Ella (Dykhuizen) Decker. She was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and was a 1948 graduate of Morrison High School. Marge married Gerald L. Hook on October 8, 1948, in Morrison. He died August 10, 2005. Marge was first employed by the former Morrison Telephone Company. She later was employed as a housekeeper for the Morrison Community Hospital and as a secretary for the Elmwood Dairy in Morrison. Most recently, she worked for Climco in Morrison for 17 years, retiring in 1992. Marge was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and the church’s Ladies Aid Society and also served as a church office volunteer and a Morrison Friends Food Pantry volunteer. Marge enjoyed needlework, travel, camping, and bus trips.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda (Dennis) Boehde of Sabula, IA, Darlene (Gary) Meyer of Morrison, and Patricia (Craig) Smith of Punta Gorda, FL; one son, Daryl (Barbara) Hook of Morrison; seven grandchildren, Angela (Doug) Roling, Scott (Kelly) Boehde, Nicole (Adam) Harmer, Amy Meyer, Philip (Lauri) Smith, Brenda (Lonnie) Scott, and David (Rebecca) Green; ten great-grandchildren, Derek and Andrew Roling, Whitney Cassaday, Jordan Boehde, McKenzie and Jaycee Smith, Logan and Jenna Scott, Faith and Tyler Green.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald; one sister, Virginia Wilkens; one brother, Bernard Decker.
