Marilyn J. Dyke, 84, of Fulton, IL, died Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at her home.
Marilyn was born June 12, 1938, in Galesburg, IL, to John W. and Hazel (Wiebenga) Maring. She was educated in the Unity Christian Grade School and was a graduate of Fulton High School. She married John “Jack” H. Dyke on January 8, 1957, at First Christian Reformed Church in Fulton. He died July 27, 2020. Marilyn was employed at Harbor Crest Nursing Home in laundry services. She later became Director of Laundry Services at Jane Lamb and Mercy Hospital in Clinton, IA. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Reformed Church in Fulton, where she was a member of the choir and the women’s circle. Marilyn loved music and sang in many cantatas. She was an election Judge in Fulton for many years. Marilyn was an animal lover and was particularly fond of cats.
Survivors include her son, Jeff (Kathy) Dyke of Morrison, IL; three grandsons, Brian Dyke of Morrison, Alex (Emily Davis) Dyke of Morrison, and Zachary Dyke of Madison, TN; one great-grandson, Russell Dyke.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; sister, Phyllis Miller.
A private Graveside service will be held at Fulton Township Cemetery, IL.
There will be no Visitation.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
The Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has been established to Unity Christian Schools.
