Marianna Smith, 97, of Fulton, IL, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison, IL.
Marianna was born April 18, 1921, in Friesland, Netherlands, to Peter and Anna (Postma) Dykstra. She attended rural Whiteside County Schools. Marianna was united in marriage to Lyle Smith on December 8, 1938, in Fulton. She was a former member of Trinity Reformed Church and a current member of First Reformed Church in Fulton. Marianna enjoyed word search puzzles.
Marianna is survived by two sons, Vernon (Juanita) Smith of Weatherford, TX, Kenneth Smith of Colorado; daughter-in-law Judy Smith of Morrison; eight grandchildren, James (Pam) Smith, Daniel (Nancy) Smith, Amy (Jody) Anderson, Laurie (Scott) Hargenrader, Rick (Mary) Smith, Melinda Smith, David Smith, Julie Smith; several great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; a son, Richard L. Smith; four sisters, Rose Zuidema, Sadie Deelsnyder, Betty Boelkens, Jeanette Vanderlaan; two brothers, Sidney Dykstra and Frank Dykstra.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2019, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Homes. Rich Criss will be officiating the services.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m., until the time of the services, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, IL.
