Marian Rose, 94, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton, IL, died Monday, December 9, 2013, at the nursing home.
Marian was born on April 7, 1919, in Fulton, to John and Tessie (Norman) Zeeryp. She was educated at the Stone Street School in rural Whiteside County and the Fulton Christian Grade Schools in Fulton. She married Cornelius “Neil” Rose on September 26, 1969, in Fulton. He died on February 3, 2003. Marian was first employed at the Toy Factory, then the Lock Shop, both in Clinton, IA. Later she worked at ICA Company in Morrison, IL. She retired from the former Patent Novelty Corporation in Fulton. Marian was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Fulton, where she was active in the Dorcas Society. She loved reading, playing the piano, flower gardening, and cooking, especially baking cookies.
Survivors include one sister, Katherine “Tootie” Bielema of Morrison; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil; two brothers, Harold Zeeryp, and one in infancy; one nephew, Terry Bielema.

INTERMENT: Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, IL
