Marching Mustangs Color Guards Fundraiser

If you attended the opening Mustang Varsity Football game, Friday, August 30, 2024,  you witnessed a new Marching Mustangs Color Guard.  This activity is being reactivated after more than ten years.  Hillary Blevins and Ruth Christin are adult co-sponsors, who teach technical skills and choreography with flags.

Current Guardians are two Juniors, Terry Arias and Quinn Blevins.  During the evening, the girls used three different sized and colored flags and lengths of poles.  Did you see the silk (flag) with a horse and its flaming mane?

These students receive a grade, as a section of the Band; they added Band to their academic schedule for Fall term.  Mrs. Blevins stated, “We would like to see a coed Color Guard team grow, with up-to-six members.”

Currently, the Guardians are raising funds for equipment (silks and poles.)  Arias and Blevins have scheduled a supper fundraiser from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Culver’s Frozen Custard & Butterburgers, 1901 Harley Davidson Drive, Rock Falls, IL.  Order from the menu, and the girls will serve your meal, fetch utensils, get drink refills, and clear the table.

Ten percent of all sales during the specified hours will benefit Marching Mustangs Color Guard.  If you cannot attend the fundraiser, contributions can be sent to Morrison High School, with checks made payable to “Morrison Music Boosters c/o Color Guard.”

Several, varied entrees and desserts are available for your dining pleasure, on Tuesday.  Gluten-free sandwich buns are available to hold a multitude of Butter Burgers and Signature sandwiches.  Other menu options are corn dog; Butterfly Jumbo Shrimp; North Atlantic Cod; grilled cheese or reuben; roast beef and pork loin sandwiches; chicken tenders; Harvest Veggie Burger; salads.

Frozen custard and shakes are made from Midwest dairy products.  The beef is Midwest raised.
