Morrison Chief of Police Brian Melton reports the following Arrests made and Citations issued since Friday, March 27, 2020.
Arrests: On Monday, April 6, 2020, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Morrison Police responded to FS-Fuel 24, Morrison, IL, regarding the theft of a motor vehicle that had just occurred. During the response, information was immediately shared with area Law Enforcement. Fulton Police located, and attempted to stop, the stolen vehicle when a pursuit began. The pursuit continued into Clinton, IA, where it ultimately ended, and the suspect fled on foot. Clinton Police, with the assistance of their Police K9 Unit, tracked and apprehended the suspect, Scott A. Plots, age 24 of Clinton. Plots was charged by Clinton Police for Eluding and Theft 2nd Degree-Possession of Stolen Property. Plots was transported to the Clinton County Jail. On Tuesday, April 7, an Arrest Warrant was issued by Whiteside County, charging Plots with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Class 2 Felony, and Theft ($500-$10,000), Class 3 Felony. Morrison Police were assisted by the Fulton Police Department and Clinton Police Department in this incident.
