March 26 Egg Scramble at Kiwanis Park

The Annual Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt was held at Kiwanis Park, 700 block of N. Genesee Street, Morrison, IL, on Saturday, March 26, 2016.  Morrison Fire Department Chief Dave Benters delivered the Easter Bunny to Kiwanis Park at 10:00 a.m.  Bunny and escort Emma Melton are Morrison High School Key Club members.  Adult sponsors who support the Kiwanis Egg Hunt with prizes are DQ Grill & Chill and Hardee’sKathy Fredericks supplies a non-sugar candy alternative.

The youngest participants, ages two and under, traversed the grass with help from an adult.  Below, Chris Mills, Morrison, holds his 11-month-old daughter, Amelia, a first time attendee.

Two of three winners of stuffed animals were seven-week old Baby Girl Medinger (held by sister Kendall) and an unidentified young boy, shown with his father.

Adults could also assist the three and four year olds.  Winners of stuffed animals were, left-to-right, Keagan Bruins, Lylah Harridge, and Jacob Mertes.

Children five and six had to scramble for eggs on their own, but cheers from spectators urged them on.  Their territory was more wide spread, but the litttle ones scoured it clean in under two minutes.  Their special prizes included coupons and gift cards.

5 6Years  

Cheering also encouraged the very capable seven-to-nine year old hunter-gatherers.  They needed only one minute and 32 seconds to pick the grass clean.  One of the winners was Kendall Medinger.
