03-09-15 at 10:15 a.m. Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Route 78 just south of Wayne Road, rural Lyndon, IL. During the investigation of the stop, Edward J. Sloter age 30 of Rock Island, IL, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. Sloter was transported to the Sheriff’s Office, where he was processed and released on a Notice to Appear. The vehicle was removed from the scene by Hunter’s Towing.
03-13-15 at 3:00 p.m. Judith S. Sherwin, age 69 of Chicago, IL, was arrested on I-88 at milepost 29 for Unlawful Approach to a Stationary Emergency Vehicle. She was also warned for Failure to Yield to an Emergency vehicle and released on bond, pending a future court appearance.
03-14-15 at 9:04 a.m. Michelle R. Brandenburg, age 51 of Peru, IL, was stopped for speeding on IL Route 40 south of Rock Falls, IL, and arrested for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. She was warned for the speeding offense.
03-14-15 at 9:12 a.m. Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Route 78 just south of Lyons Road. During the investigation of the stop, Suarez L. Aurelio, age 24 of Prophetstown, IL, was arrested for Speeding, Driving With a Suspended License, and two counts of DUI. Aurelio was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and later released on a Notice to Appear. The vehicle was removed from the scene by R & K Towing.
03-14-15 at 9:32 a.m. Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the Sterling area. Upon further investigation, Tony J. Cervantes, age 52 of Sterling, IL, was arrested for Failure to Signal When Required and No Valid Driver’s License, as well as a Whiteside County Warrant for Failure to Appear, with the original charge being Driving Under the Influence. Cervantes was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, where he was able to post bond and was released with a future court appearance. Slim-N-Hank’s also assisted on scene.
03-14-15 at 2:38 p.m. Cody L. Walters, age 27 of Rock Falls, IL, was stopped in Yeowardsville for operating an ATV on the roadway. He was arrested for Unlawful Operation of an ATV on the Roadway and Driving While License Revoked and released on bond, pending a future court date.
03-18-15 at 8:05 a.m. Whiteside County Deputies, Erie Police, Erie Fire, and Erie EMS responded to a single-vehicle roll-over crash with entrapment on Wilmot Road near Hill Road. A 17-year-old Fenton, IL, female was traveling southbound on Wilmot Road when she stated a turkey walked out onto the roadway. While taking drastic measures to avoid a collision, the vehicle entered into an uncontrollable slide and entered the ditch, where it rolled over hitting a tree. The driver was taken to Genesis–Illini Campus for precautionary observations. She was cited for Unsafe Tires. R & K Towing assisted on scene.
03-18-15 at 1:23 p.m. With the request from Prophetstown Police, Whiteside County Deputies assisted with the investigation of a possible DUI in Prophetstown. Brandy M. Gallman, age 40 of Prophetstown, IL, was arrested for DUI–Drugs, processed at the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, and released on bond, pending chemical analysis at the State Crime Lab along with future charges. 03-18-15 at 5:40 p.m. Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office received 911 calls reporting a possibly impaired driver traveling eastbound on Interstate 88. Deputies were able to locate and stop the vehicle at milemarker 25. Shannon M. Lynn, age 46 of Rapids City, IL, was subsequently arrested for No Valid Driver’s License and DUI–Drugs. She was processed at the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office and released on bond pending a future court appearance. Rick’s Towing assisted on scene.
03-19-15 at 10:46 a.m. Alvino J. Estrada, age 34 of Sterling, IL, was arrested on outstanding Whiteside and Lee County Warrants: Whiteside County–Failure to Pay Child Support and Lee County Failure to Appear DUI. He was remanded to the Whiteside County Jail without incident.
