Morrison Police Chief Brian Melton reports the following Arrests made and Citations issued since Friday, March 2, 2018.
Arrests: On Saturday, March 3, 2018, at approximately 11:10 a.m., Morrison Police observed Nathan Q. Sandell, age 26 of Fulton, IL, walking in the area of W. Main Street. Morrison, IL. Police attempted to arrest Sandell pursuant to an Arrest Warrant, issued by Whiteside County, charging Sandell with Failure to Appear-Possession of Methamphetamine. Sandell then attempted to flee the scene. After a short foot chase, Morrison Police apprehended Sandell, also charging him with Resisting a Peace Officer, and transported Sandell to the Whiteside County Jail.
On Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at approximately 2:13 p.m., Morrison Police arrested Matthew R. Gorzney, age 22 of Morrison, IL, pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Carroll County, charging Gorzney with Failure to Appear-Burglary. Gorzney was also charged with Unlawful Possession of Cannabis (10-30 grams, Class B Misdemeanor) and was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.
On Friday, March 9, 2018, at approximately 7:20 a.m., Morrison Police responded to the 100 block of W. Main Street, Morrison, IL, regarding the welfare of a male subject in a parked vehicle. As a result of checking his welfare, Morrison Police arrested Wayne A. Tomasson II, age 39 of Rapids City, IL, pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Rock Island County. Tomasson was also charged with the Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine (less than 5 grams) and the Unlawful Possession of Hypodermic Syringe/Needles. Tomasson was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.
