March is Red Cross Month. Every day, thousands of patients depend on blood and platelet donations to save their lives, during treatments and emergency care. Donors of all blood types are urgently needed, to make sure blood or platelets are not delayed or cancelled. O negative and O positive blood types are most in demand and the first to run out, during a shortage. If you have type O blood, your blood is often used by cancer patients.
On Thursday, March 19, 2020, help refuel the blood supply. Make a quick “pitstop” at Morrison United Methodist Church, 200 W. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL, between noon and 6:00 p.m. Your generous donation could make you a big winner. Everyone who comes to donate automatically will be entered to win a trip for four, to the 104th Running of the Indianapolis 500®, presented by Gainbridge.
There will be changes in routine at this event.
If you have traveled to China and its special administrative regions, Hong Kong and Macau, as well as Iran, Italy, and South Korea, RESCHEDULE YOUR DONATION for more than 28 days after your return to the United States.
POSTPONE YOUR DONATION for 28 days if you have been diagnosed with COVID-19; had contact with a person who has the virus; had contact with someone who is suspected to have it.
Your temperature will be taken in the church lobby.
You will receive lunch, but you must leave to eat it.
Donors will not sit close to each other.
Employees will wear protective gloves and gear, and wipe donor-touched areas after every collection.
