March 17 Illinois State Police Crash and Arrests

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law

The Illinois State Police investigated a two-vehicle crash on 3/17/2018 at 12:35 p.m., on Oak Grove Avenue at Hickory Road in Sterling, IL.  Unit 1, a 2000 beige Buick LeSabre driven by Robert D. Woodworth, 93, of Sterling, was northbound on Oak Grove Avenue, when it struck Unit 2, a 2017 white Ford Explorer Whiteside County squad car.  The squad was legally parked on the side of the roadway and occupied by Deputy Michael Bauer.  No injuries were reported.  Woodworth was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident. 

Chris L. Walton, 29, of Milwaukee, WI, was stopped for speeding on 3/17/2018 at 3:17 p.m., on Interstate 39 northbound at milepost 100, in Ogle County and charged with Aggravated Speeding (26-34 mph over the posted speed limit) and Driving While License Suspended.  Walton was released on an I-bond.
 
Alexis N. Walker, 22, of Savanna, IL, was stopped for speeding on 3/18/2018 at 12:37 a.m., on Illinois 84 northbound at Covell Road in Whiteside County and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Driving While License Suspended, Civil Possession of Cannabis, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Speeding, and Expired Registration.  Walker was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.  Passenger Zachary N. McCloud, 24, of Sterling, IL, was arrested on a Carroll County warrant for Contempt of Court for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  McCloud was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.
