The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Fulton[, IL,] Police Department, responded to a fatal motor vehicle accident on IL Route 84, near Schafer Road on Thursday, March 12, 2015.
The accident occurred when a northbound mini-van exited the roadway to the east and impacted a tree.
The driver, Kenneth Gruber, 64 of Peru, IL, was transported to Mercy North Hospital in Clinton, IA, where he was pronounced dead.
There were no other passengers in the vehicle.
