The following Arrests were made and Citations issued since Friday, March 12, 2021.
Arrests: On Saturday, March 13, 2021, at approximately 12:34 a.m., Morrison Police responded to a single-vehicle motor vehicle crash, in the area of S. Cherry Street and E. Winfield Street. As a result of the investigation of the crash, Morrison Police arrested and charged Sydney E. Castro, age 26 of Morrison,IL, with Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, and Driving Under the Influence (Alcohol.) Castro was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, was processed, and then released on a Notice to Appear.
On Sunday, March 14, 2021, at approximately 10:33 p.m., Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Barry A. Jackson, age 33 of Chicago, IL, for a moving violation at Lincoln Road (U. S. IL 30) and Carroll Road (IL Route 78 N.) As a result of the traffic stop, Jackson was issued citations for No Valid Driver’s License and Operating Uninsured Vehicle and was arrested pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Stephenson County, charging Jackson with Failure to Appear-Traffic Offense. Jackson was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.
On Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at approximately 2:52 a.m., Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Payton T. Gabel, age 27 of Port Byron, IL,for a moving violation in the 700 block of W. Lincolnway. As a result of the traffic stop, Gabel was issued a warning citation for Speeding and Obstructed Window, was issued citations for Driving While License Suspended and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis (Ordinance), and was arrested pursuant an Arrest Warrant issued by Rock Island County, charging Gabel with Failure to Appear-Traffic Offense. Gabel was released with a Notice to Appear in both Whiteside and Rock Island Counties.
On Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at approximately 8:02 p.m., Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Jeron Lee, age 53 of Chicago, IL, for a moving violation at Lincoln Road (U.S. IL 30) and Carroll Road (IL Route 78 N.) As a result of the traffic stop, Lee was issued a written citation for Speeding and was arrested and charged with Driving While License Suspended and pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Cook County, charging Lee with Obstructing a Police Officer and Dangerous Drugs. Lee was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.
On Friday, March 19, 2021, at approximately 12:55 a.m., Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Xavier S. Spratt, age 36 of Rockford, IL, for a moving violation at E. Lincolnway and North Sawyer Road. As a result of the traffic stop, Spratt was issued a citation for Speeding and was arrested and charged with Driving While License Revoked, Obstructing a Peace Officer (Class A Misdemeanor), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm without FOID (Class A Misdemeanor), and Unlawful Use of a Weapon (Class 4 Felony). Spratt was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.
